Star Room 4K Upgrade for the Morgan Jones Planetarium
Our goal is to upgrade the projection system in the Star Room to 4K. This upgrade would include a new 4K resolution 12K lumen laser projector (double the resolution and brightness from our current one), a new Dell rack computer system to drive the projector, and a new Dell workstation to control it. More importantly, we would upgrade the Evans & Sutherland software package from the Digistar 6 lite (which we currently have and is very limited) to their brand new Digistar 2025 (Full version!) which is vastly superior and gives us access to new digital content and movies.

New Full Dome Content
While some full dome content is available for free from other planetariums and organizations like the European Southern Observatory, new quality content is available through distributors for a fee. These fees range from $3000 to $8000 and the licenses are three to five years in duration. Purchasing them would provide many opportunities to be show to many audiences over a long period. The long term goal is to add two to three new movies to the repertoire each year to continually have new content available.

Decor and Display Updates for the Morgan Jones Planetarium
Our goal is to complete several updates to the lobby and hallways. These include - a new 25 foot long Human Space Exploration Timeline Display, a James Webb Space Telescope feature wall with manipulative mirror (partnering with ACU), an Astrogeology feature wall, a Lego and NASA Display, an Interactive Periodic Table Display, New high-resolution planet and space prints and much more.
